James O’Sullivan is a recipient of writing awards from the Arts & Humanities Council of Montgomery County (2024) and the Maryland State Arts Council (2022). His short stories have appeared in Passager, Straylight Literary Arts Magazine, Pennsylvania English, Sheepshead Review, and other magazines. For several years he served as a fiction editor and book reviewer for the Delmarva Review. He is a member of the Maryland Writers Association, the Eastern Shore Writers Association and the Writer’s Center. He has a longtime interest in theater and acting, and has performed in Washington, DC area theater productions. He had a continuing role in the award-winning web television series, “Thurston: The Western Web Series” (www.thurston-series.com). He taught English literature at Georgetown University and the United States Naval Academy. Jim earned an M.A. in Writing from the Johns Hopkins University and a Ph.D. in English literature from the University of Connecticut. He lives in Bethesda, Maryland.
